We have a "newsletter". If you sign up for the newsletter you'll get periodic updates from the farm. Topics range from "upcoming events" to "times when Febreze is a suitable alternative to showering". It's little slices of life from the farm, often funny because laughter is a stress-relieving necessity. It's not a hard-sell kinda newsletter because we're really terrible at hard-selling anything.

A Little Bit Personal
Last Thursday was my birthday. I’d been having this recurring dream for about 10 days that I bought a couple of winning lottery tickets by playing specific numbers. For my birthday I bought some tickets. First, I had to google … Continue reading

Hot Summer Days
From our house we have a good view of the horses. I could pop a bowl of popcorn and watch them all day. That is, if I wasn’t down hanging out with them. We keep our horses in two small … Continue reading

Well, Hello there!
It is no coincidence that I’ve basically stopped posting to this blog since the beginning of May. Things got busy, and as much as I love to write, I’m pretty happy to have my days filled with trail-rides! But gosh … Continue reading

There’s Something Magical About a Horse
If you’ve visited us at the hitching rails and/or ridden with us, you’ve met my main riding horse, Wrigley. You might say we’re pretty good buddies. Lately, when I walk into her field, she does this: it melts me … Continue reading

The Season Started!
Things around here have been BUSY! To quote George Costanza in Seinfeld (the one where Elaine dances), “Sweet Fancy Moses!” We’re so busy I don’t know half the time if I’ve found my rope or lost my horse. You … Continue reading

Non-Traditional Wine Pairings That Make Perfect Sense
According to people who know stuff about wine pairings, Chardonnay goes well with Salmon. I have yet to see any recommendations for wine and farm-chore pairing, so I came up with my own… Fence Fixin’— one of the least satisfying … Continue reading

Spring on Red Mountain
Last Sunday morning I woke up and it was 19 degrees outside. We went on a ride by the river, and even though it was sunny, we still wore light jackets. When I brushed my riding horse (Wrigley), I had … Continue reading
