We have a "newsletter". If you sign up for the newsletter you'll get periodic updates from the farm. Topics range from "upcoming events" to "times when Febreze is a suitable alternative to showering". It's little slices of life from the farm, often funny because laughter is a stress-relieving necessity. It's not a hard-sell kinda newsletter because we're really terrible at hard-selling anything.

Cowgirl Secrets
Just a few things I’ve learned along the trails… With enough Febreze you can skip showering for a couple of days. Cowgirls spend more on horse grooming products than on their own. But sometimes they’ll borrow their horse’s stuff (and … Continue reading

The Dude’s Guide to Wine Tasting
So often we have guests on our tours say in hushed tones, “we don’t actually know that much about wine”. I feel like it’s a sign that the wine industry still hasn’t quite shed the stigma of snootiness. (cue: Alan … Continue reading

Throw-Back Thursday: Red Mountain, 1976
May 8, 1976. Dad is on the roof of the house, laying asphalt shingles. He can drive a roofing nail with one whack of the hammer, almost as fast as a pneumatic nail gun. He has one good leg, one … Continue reading

What the Neighbors Are Like Around Here
People ask us a lot what the neighbors are like — wondering if there is a Dynasty-style feud or something, I suppose. Prepare to be disappointed if “titillating scandal” appeals to you. Well, there was a teeny scandal, more a … Continue reading

Weekend in Review
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times… Friday — lovely and quiet and sunny. Cold, but tolerable. A bit breezy in the afternoon. I walked around the property, relieved to have reduced our chicken flock … Continue reading

As winter turns to spring and the weather warms in the Tri-Cities, it is the time of year to watch for trampoline migration. Often, trampoline migration is heralded first by the migration of tumbleweeds. The tumbleweeds pile up on roadways, … Continue reading
