We have a "newsletter". If you sign up for the newsletter you'll get periodic updates from the farm. Topics range from "upcoming events" to "times when Febreze is a suitable alternative to showering". It's little slices of life from the farm, often funny because laughter is a stress-relieving necessity. It's not a hard-sell kinda newsletter because we're really terrible at hard-selling anything.

Valentine’s Day Recap
I trepidatiously offered a Valentine’s weekend wagon ride wine tasting tour last weekend. Trepidatiously because mid-February weather is unpredictable. Last year for Valentine’s Day temperatures struggled to climb out of the teens and I spent the morning chipping poop-sicles (frozen manure) out … Continue reading

I’m listening to Christmas music only because I have to. I’m putting together “the perfect holiday music playlist” for wagon-ride season. Johnny Cash, Bing Crosby, Patsy Cline — all the old country and crooner Christmas music I loathed as a … Continue reading

Trail Ride Season Ends, Wagon Season Begins
The trail riding season is over. We enjoyed a season of growth – more riders means more friends for us! The horses also had a great year of being doted on by visitors. I’m not sure who enjoys trail riding … Continue reading

We Have Wonderful Problems!
We spent all of last summer and part of this one down at the hitching rails at Kiona Vineyards Winery. While there we met so many wonderful people and the horses were loved on by kids and adults alike. It … Continue reading

Cowboyin’
My husband Jeff is not a big horse-riding person. He always says, “If I can ride one where my feet touch the ground, that’s just right.” This is a good thing, because there is a LOT of stuff to … Continue reading

The Interweb is for Horses
Have you heard of LOLcats or “I Can Haz Cheezeburger”. I present you… “LOLHorses”? Or maybe “I Can Haz Hay”? I don’t know, but I do know horses can be hilarious…

Happy Trails and the Reproduction of Asparagus
If you don’t read the rest of this post, at least enjoy this video. How awesome is that? What a nice weekend. It was Spring Barrel Tasting in the valley, which means tons of buses and partying. We left … Continue reading

There’s Something Magical About a Horse
If you’ve visited us at the hitching rails and/or ridden with us, you’ve met my main riding horse, Wrigley. You might say we’re pretty good buddies. Lately, when I walk into her field, she does this: it melts me … Continue reading
