We have a "newsletter". If you sign up for the newsletter you'll get periodic updates from the farm. Topics range from "upcoming events" to "times when Febreze is a suitable alternative to showering". It's little slices of life from the farm, often funny because laughter is a stress-relieving necessity. It's not a hard-sell kinda newsletter because we're really terrible at hard-selling anything.

Meet the Horses: Nevada

Hot Days and Hot Horses
For the most part, our little herd is content to pass their time with their heads buried in their feed bunker. To the casual observer, it probably looks like we are raising a rare breed of headless horse. I rarely … Continue reading

The Possibilities are Endless
I truly believe (and have experienced) that you can manifest what you want. I don’t know exactly how it works, because I have never manifested a winning lottery ticket. But, there have been things that fall into my lap in … Continue reading

Spinach, Orange, and Avocado Salad
I first learned this recipe as a whitewater raft guide on the Salmon River in Idaho. Every guest loved it and I’ve made it for our wagon ride dinner guests, who’ve also enjoyed it. It’s a wonderful, cool salad that … Continue reading

Facing Fears and Facts
Preface – Mortality The facts are we are mortal, and so are our animals. The topic of domesticated animals and their care is a sensitive one with almost cult-like division over everything from when to call a vet vs. whether or not to … Continue reading
Wishbone and Sis
My favorite thing to do when I visit Wishbone is to stand under his neck and lean my back against his massive chest. I am completely sheltered by the gentle giant as he curls his head down a little and … Continue reading

Valentine’s Day Recap
I trepidatiously offered a Valentine’s weekend wagon ride wine tasting tour last weekend. Trepidatiously because mid-February weather is unpredictable. Last year for Valentine’s Day temperatures struggled to climb out of the teens and I spent the morning chipping poop-sicles (frozen manure) out … Continue reading
